Top 5 brands in Nigeria on FB are MTN LoadedNG 411,728 likes, GTB 199,802; ALWAYS NIGERIA 129,997 likes, Taj Hair, 62,098 likes; Samsung Nigeria, 58,102 likes Emeka Obia said, “Companies,brands and products now see the need to relate to their customers through the social media which create a sense belonging, camaraderie and develop better interactions and conversations with their customers and followers.This engagement means that customers and stake holders are participants rather than viewers allowing every one to express and share an opinion or idea somewhere along the businesses path to market.” . Andrew Keen in his book CULT OF THE AMATEUR describes the social media as the law of digital Darwinism which is the survival of the loudest and most opinionated. Face book Detox claims that social networking causes people not only to stagnate in life but to stagnate in the function of creating and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
